Attorney licensed to practice in New York, Washington DC and Colombia. She specializes in business immigration and Employment-Based visas and her focus is on business development and practice growth, client retention and global expansion. She immigrated to the United States from her native Colombia (after living in Italy, England, and Switzerland) where she practiced law for several years.
She worked with a variety of international organizations, such as Bluestone Law International, the Export Import Bank of the US, the Embassy of Colombia in Washington D.C, the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Colombian Consulate General in Milan, Italy. In addition to being trilingual (English, Spanish, Italian), Lucia has a strong ability to work with culturally different parties to reach successful and satisfactory results. Based in the United States for over 26 years, Lucia received her LL.M. (Master of Laws degree focused on International Legal Studies) from The American University, Washington College of Law (Washington, D.C.) in 2002, and her Bachelor of Law degree and Political Sciences from the Universidad Libre de Colombia in 1991.
She also obtained a degree in Marketing at the Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi, school of Business, in Milan, Italy and has certificates of attendance to various courses taken at the London Business School in London, England such as: Sustainability Leadership and Corporate Responsibility, HR Strategy in Transforming Organizations, Building Resilience & Agility: Revitalize your organization, Executing Strategy for Results, Leading Teams for Emerging Leaders and High Performance People Skills for Leaders.
She is admitted to practice law by the District of Columbia and The New York Bar associations; as well as licensed to practice law in her native Republic of Colombia.
